Toone, a senior who has signed with Vanderbilt, was one of four competitors to clear 12 feet, 6 inches in Section A of the girls pole vault. The event was won by Rachel Fisher, who competed unattached and cleared 13-0.
Garnering hardware in the boys competition were 100-meter bronze medalist Prezel Hardy (10.61 seconds) of Killeen Ellison, which finished second in the 800 relay with a time of 1:26.99.
Temple senior Tevin Reese, a Baylor signee, was fifth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump. His triple jump of 47-10½ was exactly two feet shorter than that of champion Marquise Goodwin of Garland Rowlett. Reese had best mark of 21-11¾ in the long jump, which also was won by Goodwin (25-2¾).
The Wildcats’ 1,600 relay team was eighth in a time of 3:21.32, almost six seconds behind champion Conroe.
Reese did not qualify for the finals in the 110 hurdles, nor did Temple’s 400 and 800 relay teams.
