High school baseball: Salado's state title defense stopped by Karnes City, 4-0

LOCKHART - The Salado Eagles’ seven-game postseason winning streak and defense of their 2008 state championship ended Tuesday night with a 4-0 loss to Drew Holland and Karnes City in a Class 2A area-round baseball playoff game.

Holland had nine strikeouts while hurling a four-hitter and Karnes City took advantage of two sixth-inning errors to score three runs and break open a 1-0 game. Garret Ward had two doubles and Taylor Rudduck also doubled for the Eagles (20-9).
