Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Eplen died Monday, June 22, in a Dallas nursing home.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1924, to Joseph Dow and Nella Thomas Eplen in Cameron. He was a graduate of C.H. Yoe High School and attended Baylor University. He married Edwina “Eddie” Lews on Jan. 6, 1946. He served as an Army Air Force pilot in World War II. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Cameron, a 50-year member of the San Andres Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was the retired owner/operator of Eplen Furniture Store in Cameron. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2006.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Parish of Dallas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
