But the mild temperatures of Tuesday will be replaced with higher ones the rest of the week, although KCEN-DT Chief Meteorologist Andy Andersen said we may get a couple of showers today.
“Most of the activity in our area looks like it is over with,” Andersen said. “But then it dries out and the rest of the week we can expect highs in the 90s and south winds 10-15 miles an hour - looks like it will be pretty dry and pretty warm,” he said.
The Fourth of July is forecast to be 98 degrees.
The National Weather Service is giving a 20-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with a high in the mid-90s. Heat index values might be as high as 99. North-northwest winds will be between 5 and 10 mph. The night will be a little more comfortable at 72 degrees and then the heat returns with an expected high of 99 degrees on Thursday.
