Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, June 23, at his home.
He was born on May 1, 1943, to Lewis Haywood Johnson and Lillie Mae Hairston Johnson in Cameron. He was a graduate of C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron. He was employed by Boral Industries of Rockdale as a plant operator for 15 years; formerly he was employed as a driller with B&B Drilling of Milano and as an X-ray technician for Richards Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Minerva. He was also a life-long resident of Milam County. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicky Johnson.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Johnson and Shane Johnson, both of Minerva and Vince Johnson of Pearland; a sister, Kathe Keller of Michigan; his mother of Minerva; and 10 grandchildren.
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale is in charge of arrangements.
