Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in North Belton Cemetery with Chet Smith officiating.
Mr. Morgan was born on Oct. 1, 1924, to J.W. and Martha Rumfield Morgan in Holland. He was a 1942 graduate of Salado High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1952, he graduated from the University of Texas with a master’s degree. He worked as a federal bank examiner for 20 years and then in civil service at Fort Hood as a property book officer at Darnall Army Medical Center for 16 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene; American Legion Post No. 133; VFW Post No. 1820; and the Central Texas Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lennie Morgan of Temple; three sons, Travis Charles Morgan of Lafayette, La., Dennis James Morgan of Pensacola, Fla., and Michael Ray Lawrence of Temple; a sister, Jewell Reid of Belton; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
