Quilt show

Amber Rodriguez, 8, of Temple checks her list of things to find on quilts at the Wildflower Guild quilt show. The Blooming Baskets Quilt Show continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center, 3303 N. Third St. in Temple. Tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for children 12 and younger; and $3 for seniors older than 65. Author Helen Widener will autograph her book, “Scraps of Life,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The book is a historical look at the life of Elizabeth Patton Crockett and a step-by-step guide to recreating her family heirloom — a postage stamp quilt on point. Other events include a Country Store with items donated by guild members, a silent auction, quilt appraisals and a scavenger hunt for children. (Mitch Green/Telegram)
