The event will run 1 to 5 p.m. and will showcase vendors of gowns and tuxedos, flowers, food, photograph, music and musicians, baked goods, venues, salons, teeth whitening, travel arrangements, gifts and event decorating.
A special treat at this year’s showcase will be demonstrations by dancers from In the Mood Ballroom in Temple.
Advance tickets for the event are currently on sale for $7. They are available online at www.tdtnews.com or at the Temple Daily Telegram, 10 N. Third St. in downtown Temple. Tickets will cost $10 at the door.
Lacy Gaines, manager and runway show producer for Georgio’s Bridal & Formalwear in Waco, said, “Edgy is what we’re really showing. A lot of the 20s are coming back with short veils and hat veils.”
With a theme of “elegant rock,” Ms. Gaines said the shop will combine vintage and modern for bride’s who want to look like no other bride on their wedding day.
“We’re also showing more informals for the honeymoon and receptions gowns,” she said adding that this year’s bridesmaids will be wearing bold, colorful pieces and that’s what the store has in store for the Showcase.
Bride’s Request & More in Killeen’s manager Ashley Cramer believes that fall holds bridesmaids in chocolate with blue or pink accents, and that, she said, is what they’ll be showing.
“We’ll also have samples of the Destiny line from Impressions that we are adding to our collection,” she said. “It’s a more simplistic dress and gown. It’s perfect for summer weddings because they are light.”
But don’t think the shop is giving up on its “perfect princess” and “queen of the day” gowns, Ms. Cramer said they’ll have some of those on the runway along with tuxedos from Jim’s Formal wear in Seguin.
Sass Salon and Spa will provide hair and makeup assistance for all the models.
Each registered bride will receive a free wedding planner at the same time they have an opportunity to learn what local businesses have to help ensure their day is perfect.
There will more than a dozen door prizes available that include free photography sittings, gift certificates at local bridal stores, a mini getaway salon package and free tuxedo rentals.
In the Sunday July 26 edition of the Telegram, there will be an insert that will feature all the vendors expected and a complete list of door prizes.
