KILLEEN - A standoff in Killeen that started with a man shooting a gun at his home Wednesday morning continued into the afternoon, leaving Maxdale Elementary School in lockdown.

Parents are being asked to pick up their children at the Killeen Special Events Center at Elm and W.S. Young. Students will be dismissed from school at the regular time of 2:45 p.m., and buses will pick them up at the back of the school. Students will then be transported to the events center.

Parents are asked not to go to the school, but pick up their children at the events center at 3:15 p.m.
