The driver of an 18-wheeler involved in the accident and the aide were transported to Scott & White Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to a Department of Public Safety trooper on the scene.
No Belton students were on the bus at the time of the accident, said Judy Owens, spokeswoman for the Belton Independent School District.
As of 10:30 a.m., four hours after the accident, FM 439 remained closed and officials could not say for certain when it would re-open.
