AUSTIN - Mike McNamara proved to be the dual-threat Academy expected, scoring two touchdowns and passing for another to lead Austin St. Michael's past the Bumblebees 38-14 in a non-district game Friday night at Crusader Stadium.

McNamara rushed nine times for 72 yards and passed for 101 yards to fuel the Crusaders (4-0).

Academy got a 19-yard touchdown run from Layton Willis and a 69-yard scoring pass from Kyle Kuban to Brent Fritz, but it wasn't enough to keep the Bumblebees (3-1) from suffering their first loss.

Killeen 39

Pfl. Connally 38

KILLEEN - Killeen blocked a punt in the final minute and Michael Cummings connected with Ja'Corie Baker for a 34-yard touchdown pass on the next play as the Kangaroos staged a memorable comeback win against Pflugerville Connally at Leo Buckley Stadium.

With Connally (1-2) leading 38-33 and facing a fourth-and-18 situation, Killeen's Ryan Jones blocked a punt and Antrez Price recovered.

Baker's touchdown capped the comeback for Killeen (3-1), which trailed 38-26.

Connally quarterback Dustin Babola's desperation heave from the Cougars' 49-yard line was broken up on the final play.

Cummings finished with 418 total yards and accounted for six touchdowns for the Roos, who host Class 4A No. 2-ranked Austin Lake Travis next Friday in their District 25-4A opener.

Rockdale 54

Leander Rouse 0

ROCKDALE - Daniel Brooks rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Rockdale Tigers over Leander Rouse.

Greg Chelf added two touchdowns and 109 yards as the Tigers ran their record to 4-0. Rouse, a new school playing its first varsity-level foe, dropped to 2-1. The Tigers amassed 498 total yards, while their defense held the Raiders to just 89.

Rosebud-Lott 48

Florence 29

TRAVIS - Ernesto Flores ran for 162 yards and passed for 181 to push Rosebud-Lott past Florence.

The Cougars (2-2) erased a 15-13 halftime deficit with 20 third-quarter points. In the third, Flores had touchdown passes of 14 and 55 yards to DeAndre Thompson, who added a 17-yard scoring run to put Rosebud-Lott in front for good.

The Buffaloes (1-3) were gouged for 305 yards on the ground by the Cougars, who capped the scoring with a 30-yard sprint by Thompson and a 28-yard jaunt by Flores.

BLANCO - The Blanco Panthers rolled up 421 rushing yards behind a 246-yard performance by Layton Dworaczyk to roll past Jarrell in non-district game at Panther Stadium.

Dworaczyk had four touchdowns on 34 carries. Corey Dowlearn, who added two TDs for the Panthers, gained 99 yards on 13 carries to help Blanco improve to 3-1.

The Cougars (0-3) scored on a 46-yard pass from Dwight Culp to Daniel Tucker.

Bartlett 47

Hubbard 0

BARTLETT - Quarterback Gabriel Gadison scored three touchdowns and passed for another to lead the Bartlett Bulldogs (3-0) to a non-district win over Hubbard.

It was Bartlett's ninth consecutive regular-season victory. The Jaguars dropped to 0-4.

Gadison scored on designed keepers of 45, 1 and 18 yards. He also tossed a 45-yard touchdown pass to Eric Walker, who rushed nine times for 129 yards and scored on a 40-yard run. Gadison finished with 130 yards on 13 carries.

Holland 33

Texas Christian 25

HOLLAND - The Holland Hornets broke open a close game in the second half and claimed a non-district win over Texas Christian Academy at Hornet Field.

Sam Goodnight scored two touchdowns and a field goal, and Chance Brantner added two touchdowns to even the Hornets' mark at 2-2. The Stars dropped to 0-2. Brantner finished with 167 yards on 15 carries.

BUCKHOLTS - The Buckholts Badgers (0-4) fell to the Cedar Park Summit Eagles (3-1) in six-man shootout at Jim Hauk Field.

Hill Country 42

Holy Trinity 12

Austin Hill Country churned out 225 yards on the ground and limited Holy Trinity Catholic to 80 rushing yards as the Knights downed the Celtics in a TAPPS District 3-Six-Man game.

Holy Trinity (2-2, 0-2 district) took a 6-0 lead on Jacob Daheim's 34-yard touchdown pass to Chris Watson before Hill Country (3-1, 1-0) scored 42 straight to take control.

Daheim and Watson hooked up again on a 22-yard TD connection in the fourth quarter to cap it.
