The Crusaders, who had a two-day total of 597, posted the second-lowest score of the final round with a 295 to finish nine strokes behind champion Tyler Junior College (287-301-588) at Mill Creek Golf Club. Texas-Brownsville (296-293-589) was second followed by Lubbock Christian (303-289-592).
Nordt's consistent play was good enough for an eighth-place tie in the individual standings, where he came in four shots back of champion Trevor Turnbow of LCU.
Belton product Johnathan Sustaita also was steady with a pair of 74s, Mike McQuaid (77-74-151), Jeffrey Hoy (78-74-152) and Ryan Berry (81-77-158) rounded out UMHB's card.
Lady Crusaders drop to ninth in final round
Mary Hardin-Baylor was 12 strokes off its first-round pace, posting a final-round 356 Tuesday and slipping a spot to ninth place at the women's Lady Crusader Fall Invitational.
The Lady Crusaders' two-round total of 700 left them 79 stokes behind champion Lubbock Christian (305-316-621) at Wildflower Country Club. Western Texas College (321-318-639) was second followed by Southwestern (325-318-643). LCU's Rachael Dansby (70-80-150) hung on to claim the individual title after winning a scorecard playoff with Southwestern's Kristen Davenport (76-74-150).
Christi Williams' 82-88-170 led UMHB, which also fielded Mallory McAdams (88-89-177), Allison Williams (84-94-178), Courtney Nelson (92-87-179) and Catherine Andrews (90-92-182).
