The Lady Leopards (12-17, 3-0 NTJCAC) got a team-high 10 kills from Coco Cave, along with three aces. Setter Kylie Presswood added 33 assists, three aces and two digs, while middle blocker Kelsey Marek had nine kills and three blocks. Libero Rachel Doyle had 15 digs and four kills and outside hitter Chelsie Padgett had eight kills, two blocks and two digs.
Temple hosts Cisco at 6 p.m. Thursday at TC Gym.
UMHB drops home opener
BELTON - After 23 consecutive matches on the road to start the season, Mary Hardin-Baylor played its home opener Tuesday night but fell to No. 14-ranked Southwestern 25-9, 25-15, 25-18.
The Lady Crusaders (6-18) got 11 kills from Christina Miller and 21 digs from Erin Maenius but posted an attack percentage of only .056. The Pirates (15-3) hit .343 and committed only four attack errors to UMHB's 22.
The Lady Crusaders continue their homestand with American Southwest Conference matches against Texas-Dallas at 7 p.m. Friday and East Texas Baptist at 2 p.m. Saturday.
