And fewer will be laying off, according to the data.
Compared with other Texas metro areas, Temple is also helping set the pace on hiring.
"The hiring intentions of U.S. companies continue to be sluggish," Jeff Joerres, Manpower chairman and CEO, said in a news release. "While there are areas within the U.S. which are showing an uptick, we have yet to see the robust hiring intentions that would indicate a full labor-market recovery."
Nationwide, employers in medical and health fields are doing most of the hiring this quarter.
In the Temple metro area, though, employers all across the spectrum plan to hire. Those in manufacturing, transportation, utilities, information and financial services indicate they will be reducing staff.
This quarter's survey numbers were almost exactly the same as those for the third quarter.
