An average of about 3 inches of rain fell in the Temple/Belton area overnight and early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

About 3 to 6 inches of rain fell through Bell and Coryell counties, moving toward North Texas.

It didn't take much for rains to run off and cause some creeks in the area to flood, although most roads were passable by early afternoon, said Eric Martello, a senior meteorologist at the NWS Fort Worth district office.
