A fun day at the VA

With a Fort Hood soldier serving as their dealer, Alcy Clemons Jr. and Wilber Radicke were playing blackjack Friday in a parking lot west of the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home on the Temple VA campus.

Clemons and Radicke, both residents of the community living center at the Temple VA, weren't up to anything shady. No money was changing hands. In fact, winnings ranged from Cracker Jacks to popcorn and Rubik's cubes to cribbage sets and tic tack toe games.

There were other veterans, all accompanied by a Fort Hood soldier, who were playing miniature shuffle board, Plinko, ring toss and miniature golf.
