Marlene Zipperlen, dean of the College of Education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, denied U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan's remarks that schools of education across the country do a mediocre job preparing teachers.
Duncan spoke at Columbia University on Thursday, and text of his speech was released Wednesday night, which said colleges weren't doing enough to prepare teachers "for the realities of the 21st-century classroom."
