Monuments pay tribute to Confederates

Bloody scenes of war have been transformed into granite memories, sacred in their serenity and silence. Nearly 145 years after the end of the War Between the States, Bell County's two Confederate monuments still stand as testaments to the men who fought, thanks mostly to women who would not forget.
