Doctor: Medical schools seeking student diversity

BELTON - Students who aspire to become doctors had a chance to hear what's required to get into medical school from Dr. Michael Brennan, an orthopedic traumatologist at Scott & White Memorial Hospital.

Brennan spoke to about 20 members of the Sigma Pi Chemistry Club at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Monday.

Getting into medical school takes a lot of work and is stressful, but once in, the school will go to great lengths to help the student succeed, Brennan said. Graduation rate in medical school is high.

"Once they have you they want to keep you," he said.
