The win creates a four-way tie between Yoe, Rockdale, Navasota and Madisonville for second place in district behind unblemished Caldwell. Madisonville downed Bryan Rudder, 26-14 on Thursday while Rockdale was idle. All four teams have 3-2 district marks.
On the opening kickoff, Yoe's Dedrick Westbrook wrestled the ball away from the Rattlers' returner and ran 24 yards for a touchdown and a 8-0 lead, but Justin Whitfield returned the favor in the second quarter, returning a fumble 10 yards to knot the score at 8-8.
The Rattlers (7-2) scored twice more before the half ended, as quarterback Kye Hildreth scored on a 1-yard keeper and then tossed a 55-yard scoring pass to Terrance Byrd to take a 22-8 lead.
But the Yoemen (6-3) came back in the fourth quarter when Steven Townsend scored on a 5-yard run, then hit Westbrook from the 17 to cut it to 22-21.
Juan Carlos Saucedo iced it with a 36-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter to produce the 24-22 final score.
College Station A&M Consolidated 21, Copperas Cove 7
COPPERAS COVE - College Station A&M Consolidated didn't allow an offensive touchdown and clinched a Class 5A Division I playoff berth with a huge win over Copperas Cove at Bulldawg Stadium.
Chris Nutall rushed for 190 yards and led the Tigers' 301-yard ground attack as Consol (6-3 overall, 5-1 District 12-5A) beat the Bulldawgs for the second straight season and moved into a first-place tie with Belton.
Defending league champion Cove (7-2, 4-2) still clinched its sixth straight playoff berth and is currently the league's No. 2 seed in Division II behind Belton but will need help to earn a share of the district crown.
It was the second time in three weeks that the Bulldawgs, who totaled just 210 total yards of offense, failed to score an offensive touchdown.
Bryan 41, Harker Heights 27
BRYAN - Nate Jones scored three touchdowns and the Bryan Vikings topped the Harker Heights Knights at Merrill Green Stadium.
Bryan (5-4, 4-2 in District 12-5A) clinched a playoff spot with the win and also effectively eliminated both the Knights (2-7, 2-4) and the Temple Wildcats from postseason contention.
The Knights held a 21-20 lead at the half, but came out sluggish in the third quarter, gaining just 1 yard on offense and giving up touchdown runs of 38 and 5 yards by Jones on defense.
The Vikings close out the regular season at Belton next Friday while the Knights will host Copperas Cove.
Austin Hill Country 60, Central Texas Christian 12
First-quarter touchdown runs by Caleb Paschall and Taylor Truitt had Central Texas Christian in a battle with favored Austin Hill Country, but the Knights scored the last 46 points and ended their TAPPS District 3-Six-Man game at Frazee Field in the third quarter on the 45-point mercy rule.
The Lions rushed for 186 yards but were 0-for-10 passing with an interception as they finished the season 4-6 overall and 1-3 in district.
The playoff-bound Knights (7-3, 3-1) got two touchdown runs from Brandon Simpson in building a 22-12 lead after the first quarter. He added a 49-yard punt return for a score and threw a TD pass to Steven Simmonds.
Truitt rushed 18 times for 155 yards, including a 60-yard TD that cut the CTCS deficit to 14-12 late in the opening period. Paschall's 3-yard run was the Lions' other touchdown.
Bruceville-Eddy 44, Moody 7
MOODY - The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles notched their first District 16-2A win of the season, claiming a victory over Moody at Bearcat Stadium.
The Eagles (2-7, 1-5) took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 20-yard fumble return by Jake King and a 1-yard quarterback keeper by Sheldon Walker.
Moody (2-7, 0-6) cut it to 14-7 in the second when Justin McNeely caught a 7-yard scoring pass from Eric Alexander. But Sul Ross returned the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown to extend the Eagles' lead to 21-7, and they never looked back, scoring 30 unanswered points to claim the win.
Bruceville-Eddy's Logan Pratt led all rushers with 67 yards on six carries, while Moody was led by Tony Recio, who carried 19 times for 60 yards.
Bartlett 42, Thrall 26
THRALL - Bartlett pulled away from Thrall with two fourth-quarter touchdowns for the victory to clinch a Class A Division II playoff berth at Tiger Stadium.
After Michael Wells' 1-yard run pulled Thrall (4-5, 2-2) to within 28-26 in the third, the Bulldogs (6-2, 3-1) answered with Gabriel Gadison's third and fourth touchdowns of the night, both 10-yard runs, to put the game out of reach.
Eric Walker rushed for 199 yards and Gadison raised his season rushing total to 889 yards.
Milano 41, Holland 13
HOLLAND - Milano remained in the playoff hunt with a victory over Holland in District 26-A action at Hornet Field.
The Eagles (6-2, 2-2) are tied with Thrall for third place in the district behind Thorndale and Bartlett, both of which have sewn up playoff berths. Milano and Thrall will meet next week to decide the final playoff spot.
The Eagles opened up a 27-0 lead in the first half. Matthew Jentsch scored touchdowns on runs of 47 and 35 yards, and Sam Walker added a 66-yard scoring run to make it 21-0. Jentsch then tossed a 24-yard scoring pass to Chris Juhl to increase the lead to 27-0.
Holland (2-7, 0-4) cut it to 27-6 when Mike Cockerill found Gabriel Camacho from 46 yards out, but then Juhl and Jentsch went back to work, as Juhl scored on a 16-yard run and Jentsch added a 6-yard keeper to extend the Eagle advantage to 41-6 in the third.
Cockerill scored on a 9-yard run to close the gap to 41-13, but the Hornets wouldn't get any closer.
Thorndale 20, Granger 14
GRANGER - The Thorndale Bulldogs kept their position atop District 26-A Friday with a come-from-behind victory over Granger at Lions Stadium.
The loss drops Granger (1-8, 1-3) from playoff contention.
The Lions took the early advantage when Nels Scot caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Aleman to make it 7-0, and that lead stood until the fourth quarter.
Josh Ware ignited the Bulldogs' comeback with a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown early in the fourth, closing the score to 7-6. He later caught a 17-yard scoring pass from Paxton Jordan to give the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead.
Jordan then scored on a 3-yard run to stretch the lead to 20-7.
The Lions fought back, getting a 33-yard touchdown pass from Juan Torrez to Kyle Janke to make it 20-14, but the rally fell short.
