Burial will be in Gatesville City Cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Sunday, Nov. 1, in a local nursing home.
He was born Oct. 5, 1911, in the Ewing community of Coryell County to Young W. and Georgia A. Jones Williams. He grew up in the Ewing community. He married Orleane Newsom May 12, 1934 and she preceded him in death May 31, 2000. They resided in Gatesville until moving to Waco in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and was discharged in 1945. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church and served as a deacon for more than 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sammy Williams of Waco; two sons, Bobby Williams and Johnny Williams, both of Gatesville; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Live Oak Baptist Church, 103 FM 107, Gatesville, 76528; or to your favorite charity.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Gatesville Funeral Home in Gatesville.
