About 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Temple Mayor Bill Jones III was monitoring election returns at the Bell County annex where the city liquor election looked like it was heading to an easy victory with 70 percent approval.
"If this holds up into the final count, I'm very pleased we're able to have distilled liquor sales and it'll bode well for us to bring in some new retailers into our community," Jones said.
The ayes did hold up, according to unofficial election returns.
