BISD plans next step after passage of $29M bond

Belton ISD officials are preparing for construction after getting a $29 million bond approval from voters Tuesday for a new middle school.

"We will be working with our architects and stakeholders over the upcoming weeks to finalize our designs," said Eric Haugeberg, BISD assistant superintendent.

The bond election passed with a tally of 54 percent for, or 2,357 votes, and 46 percent against, or 1,972. BISD is planning a meeting at 8 p.m. Nov. 13 to canvass the votes.

A presentation is tentatively scheduled at the November BISD school board meeting, where district officials will update their plans for the public.
