That's why he hauls his intricate set around to each concert, arriving early to assemble the pieces and staying late to take them apart. But he can't help it.
"Listening to the beat is so infectious," he said.
Morris and the rest of the Temple Jazz Orchestra will tackle the work of legendary big band leaders at a tribute concert to Buddy Rich and Woody Herman at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Temple College Performing Arts Center.
