Before Thursday, before a gunman killed 13 people and wounded 38, Fort Hood Police Department's Sgt. Kimberly Munley wrote on her twitter: "I live a good life ... a hard one, but I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone's life."
The 34-year-old civilian police officer was credited with stopping that gunman before he could kill more people.
Munley certainly made the difference she strove for - not in just someone's life, but in the lives of several.
