Lampasas (4-6, 3-3 District 25-4A) scored on the ground, through the air and with its special teams to pound Hutto 47-20 Friday night, securing the No. 2 playoff seed in Division II - the Badgers' first postseason berth since 2000.
After going 0-20 the last two years, Lampasas capped its turnaround regular season in style. Vann Millican threw a pair of touchdown passes. Edward Hall ran for 124 yards and two scores, and Aaron Reyna returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD.
The Hippos (5-5, 2-4) trailed 34-7 before getting two late scores.
Killeen 34, Pflugerville Hendrickson 27
PFLUGERVILLE - Killeen polished up its offense heading into the postseason with a win over Pflugerville Hendrickson.
The Kangaroos (8-2, 5-1 District 25-4A) - the No. 2 playoff seed in Division I - rolled up 422 yards to hold off the Hawks (5-4, 3-3).
Michael Cummings passed for 268 yards and two TDs for Killeen. He also ran for a pair of scores.
Copperas Cove 32, Harker Heights 14
COPPERAS COVE - Harker Heights rushed for 302 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome playoff-bound Copperas Cove in a bizarre game that ended in the third quarter.
The game came to a conclusion when officials basically ejected the entire Heights team for repeated instances of fighting.
The Bulldawgs (8-2, 5-2 District 12-5A) - the district's No. 2 playoff seed in Division II - had three scoring plays of 25 yards or longer, including Dustin Walker's 85-yard interception return.
The Knights (2-8, 2-5) got 139 rushing yards from Kerry Sloan and 118 from Chris Elmore in their finale.
College Station A&M Consolidated 38, Killeen Ellison 20
COLLEGE STATION - The College Station A&M Consolidated Tigers picked up a share of the District 12-5A title and secured the top seed for Division I playoffs with a victory over Killeen Ellison.
The Tigers (7-3, 6-1 in 12-5A) broke the game open with a 17-point second quarter to take a 24-7 lead into the half. Chris Nutall had 204 yards and two rushing touchdowns for Consol. Devon Hocutt led Ellison (4-6, 2-5) with 149 yards.
China Spring 42, Gatesville 41 (OT)
CHINA SPRING - In a shootout between playoff teams, China Spring outlasted Gatesville in overtime.
Bryan Bell put China Spring on top with a 25-yard run in overtime for a seven-point advantage.
Gatesville answered with Christian Santulan hauling in a 16-yard pass from Jake Truss. However, the two-point conversion for the win failed and the Cougars prevailed. The Hornets (7-3, 3-2 District 7-3A) are the district's Division I playoff representative.
Rockdale 57, Taylor 14
TAYLOR - Rockdale rolled into the playoffs by blowing out Taylor.
The Tigers (8-2, 4-2 District 24-3A) piled up almost 500 yards to clinch a Division II playoff berth. Joe Sanders threw for 127 yards and three touchdowns - two to Tyler Wright - and ran for a 78-yarder.
Bruceville-Eddy 26, Clifton 19
EDDY - Bruceville-Eddy built a 26-16 halftime lead, then held off Clifton to close the season in winning fashion.
Logan Pratt rushed for 160 yards and two TDs for the Eagles (3-7, 2-5 District 16-2A), who held the Cubs (3-7, 1-6) to a field goal in the second half.
Crawford 61, Moody 0
CRAWFORD - The Crawford Pirates' place in the playoffs was already secure, but they built some momentum in the regular-season finale with a whitewashing of Moody.
Crawford (8-2, 5-2 District 16-2A) scored in every quarter, leading 27-0 at halftime. The Pirates piled up 20 points in the third and closed it out with 14 in the fourth.
Ricky Siler led the Bearcats (2-8, 0-7) with 76 yards rushing.
Hearne 24, Rosebud-Lott 7
HEARNE - The Rosebud-Lott Cougars got a shocker, falling to the Hearne Eagles.
The Cougars (5-5, 3-2 District 20-2A) had already clinched a playoff spot and will be the top seed in Division II. Ernesto Flores scored the first touchdown for the Cougars, but the Eagles (5-5, 2-3) - already eliminated from postseason contention - answered with an 80-yard kickoff return, got the two-point conversion and never looked back.
Academy 36, Florence 25
FLORENCE - The Academy Bumblebees finished their season on a positive note by outlasting Florence.
Layton Willis had 149 rushing yards and scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 42 yards to lead the Bees (6-4, 3-3 District 25-2A). Academy - playing without coach Royce McAdams, who was relieved of his duties on Monday - pulled away after the Buffaloes (2-8, 1-5) had tied it at 22-all.
Lago Vista 42, Jarrell 17
JARRELL - The Lago Vista Vikings captured the first district title in school history with a win over Jarrell.
Jason Cormier scored four touchdowns and racked up 238 yards to pace the Vikings (7-2, 5-1 District 25-2A). Lago Vista rolled up 421 yards on the ground.
Jarrell (0-9, 0-6) battled early, striking the first blow when Stephen Taylor hit Daniel Tucker on a 49-yard touchdown pass. The Cougars tied it at 14 when Taylor hit Dwight Culp on a 12-yarder.
Bartlett 46, Granger 27
BARTLETT - Eric Walker and Gabriel Gadison combined for 345 rushing yards as Bartlett rolled into the playoffs with a win over Granger.
Walker scored touchdowns on runs of 46, 81 and 19 along to go with scoring receptions of 53 and 42 yards. Bartlett (7-2, 4-1 District 26-A), which converted three two-point conversions in the first half, is expected to play Bosqueville in the first round of the playoffs.
Andrew Aleman paced Granger (1-9, 1-4) with 97 yards on 18 carries.
Thorndale 54, Holland 14
THORNDALE - The Thorndale Bulldogs scored 54 straight points to roll into the postseason with a victory over Holland.
Holland (2-8, 0-5 District 26-A) scored first on a 25-yard pass from Ely Stroud to Mike Cockerill. The Hornets didn't get on the board again until late in the fourth quarter on a 6-yard pass from Stroud to Gabriel Camacho.
Playoff-bound Thorndale amassed more than 600 yards (8-2, 5-0).
Thrall 21, Milano 14 (2OT)
MILANO - Needing a win to get into the playoffs, the Milano Eagles (6-3, 2-3 District 26-A) came up short in a loss to postseason-bound Thrall (5-5, 3-2).
CenTex Homeschool 38, Holy Trinity Catholic 12
The Centex Homeschool Chargers scored 38 points in the second half to down Holy Trinity Catholic.
Holy Trinity (3-7) got on the board in the second half with Jacob Daheim hitting Chris Watson on a 2-yard pass. In the fourth quarter, Joseph Traino scored from the 4 for the Celtics, who couldn't rally past the Chargers (7-2).
