Painting for the ears and music for the eyes - that's how Yuli Turovsky describes his orchestra's performance of Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," which incorporates a large screen to project animated, surrealist paintings set to 15 movements of music.

"I think it creates a new form of art," Turovsky said. "You can see the music and hear the paintings."

The Russian-born cellist conducts and performs in one of Canada's most respected ensembles, I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra, which takes the stage at 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Cultural Activities Center as part of the Central Texas Orchestral Society's concert season. The 15-member group will perform other Russian works including Tchaikovsky's "Souvenir de Florence" and Shostakovitch's "Chamber Symphony, Op. 49."
