When Ben Green set out to guest direct the Temple Civic Theatre's second play of the season, he had a pretty valuable resource - the play's original director.

Former TCT artistic director Sandy Shinner directed "Trying" when it debuted at Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago and off-Broadway at the Promenade Theatre. The TCT production opens at 8 p.m. Nov. 13.
