UMHB men win, will host Hardin-Simmons with ASC soccer championship at stake

BELTON - Mary Hardin-Baylor claimed the first American Southwest Conference Tournament win in program history by beating Schreiner 1-0 in a semfinal Saturday afternoon at Cru Sports Plex.

The Crusaders (14-3) advanced to today's 1 p.m. championship match against Hardin-Simmons. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. UMHB won the regular season matchup 1-0.

Trevor Shoppach headed home UMHB's lone goal off an assist from Andrew Carrasco and Mark Miller posted his 10th shutout in goal.

Lady Crusaders' season ended by Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE - Mary Hardin-Baylor dug itself an early hole and never recovered, losing 5-0 in a semifinal of the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Crusaders end their season at 12-6.

Hardin-Simmons advanced to today's championship match against Texas-Dallas.
