The Temple metropolitan area will grow faster than any other second-tier Texas region other than those on the border with Mexico, according to new projections from The Perryman Group of Waco.

The population will grow by 43 percent between now and 2035 in the Temple-Killeen-Fort Hood MSA, outpacing most other non-border regions by as much as 27 percentage points.

The Perryman Group released the figures Friday for all metro statistical areas in Texas. The large ones, such as Austin-Round Rock, will almost double in growth by 2035, the figures show.
