Ten years ago this spring, Henn learned she had coronary artery disease and required a double bypass. Her surgery at Scott & White Memorial Hospital was successful, but she still has the disease.
"Coronary heart disease doesn't go away," Henn said.
As a woman, Henn said she knew she needed to advocate for her own heart health, but now she also advocates for others.
Henn had been involved in Mended Hearts and the American Heart Association for years. She learned of WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women and Heart Disease, a couple of years ago from Donna Dunn, communication coordinator of Scott & White Heart and Vascular Institute.
