Where is the ball set? Where are the blockers on the court? Are they split, giving the line or have they put up a cross block?
"A lot goes through my head," the always-smiling 5-10 Belton outside hitter said.
It's a quick sequence that happens numerous times each match, and because of her polished instincts, the fundamentally sound Weaver has defenders at her mercy.
That's how it's been during her breakout junior season. Weaver's domination at the net has allowed her to take over matches and has carried the Lady Tigers (15-23) - who face DeSoto (26-11) in a Class 5A bi-district playoff match at 6 tonight at Waco High - to their third straight postseason.
While she can react in the blink of a second on the court, her evolution into an unstoppable force wasn't as sudden.
"I think I knew I could do it the whole time. It just took a while for it to happen," said Weaver, the area's leader in kills per game.
