Bell County employers added 4,000 people to their payrolls between 2007 and 2008, data released Thursday by the Census Bureau show.

Payrolls grew by about $100 million year to year.

The bureau issued its new County Business Patterns publication, which it calls "the only detailed annual information on the number of establishments, employees and annual payroll of the 1,200 industries covered at the national, state and county level."
