The Texas Rangers used to go to spring training trying to fill out a starting rotation and hoping to get out of last place in the American League West.
When the Rangers report to camp this week, they will have Japan’s top pitcher and four returners who had at least 13 wins last year. There are at least seven potential starters, even after losing their ace in free agency.
The Rangers will be taking the first step in their quest to get to their third consecutive World Series, and there insist there will be no hangover after being so agonizingly close to winning it all last season.
