SEGUIN — The best regular season in school history is finished, but Mary Hardin-Baylor’s men’s basketball team isn’t.
Up next is what the Crusaders hope will be an equally successful postseason run.
UMHB took control with a hot-shooting first half and maintained it by putting the clamps on Texas Lutheran after halftime on the way to a 60-53 victory Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.
The win capped a 24-1 regular season for the fifth-ranked Crusaders (20-1 American Southwest Conference), who will turn their attention to the conference tournament. They host the league showcase for the third time in five years, starting Friday at Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.

Lady Crusaders squander 24-point lead in loss
SEGUIN — The Mary Hardin-Baylor women appeared ready to put a victorious ending on what had been a disappointing season.
Looks, though, can be deceiving.
UMHB led by 24 points with 17½ minutes remaining but couldn’t close the door on Texas Lutheran, which rallied to pull out an 80-75 victory Saturday.
