The Temple Daily Telegram’s 13th annual Day for Women, presented by Academy Sports and Outdoors, will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center.
The event will feature shopping opportunities, fashion and accessories, charities and door prizes. More than 30 vendors will be participating in the event. There will be a featured speaker during the catered luncheon. Seating and serving will begin at 11:30 a.m.; the speaker will begin at noon.
The featured speaker during the luncheon will be Kelly Harp, entrepreneur, television personality, designer and mother.
Harp and her husband, Clint, have been regularly featured on HGTV’s program, “Fixer Upper.” They have also worked on several projects for the DiY Network. The Harps own and operate Harp Design Co. in Waco.
The title of Harp’s presentation is, “How in the world did you get to be on TV?!”
Harp said she enjoys getting to speak with people, but because of the family’s schedule and her husband’s traveling, she doesn’t often get the chance.
“When this opportunity arose, I jumped on it because speaking in Temple is like getting to talk with women in my community, and the fact that it’s a women’s day event makes it even better,” she said.
Harp said she will be available for a meet and greet following the presentation.
Tickets are available at www.tdtnews.com and at Precious Memories, located at 1404 S. 31 St. in Temple. General admission is $10 and does not include the luncheon. Luncheon tickets cost $25 and include admission to the vendor booths.
The convention center is located at 3303 N. Third St. in Temple.
