Engagement Announcement information and guidelines

Engagement announcements are published in the Sunday edition of the Temple Daily Telegram. The cost for a standard announcement is $25. It will include a 2½-inch by 4-inch black and white photograph and up to 65 words of copy. Larger announcements are available at regular advertising rates. All engagement announcements will be paid for at the time of submission.

 Engagement photos may only include the couple. Clear, in-focus black and white or color photos are acceptable. Polaroid, instant or soft focus prints cannot be used. Please send photos with a resolution of at least 200 dpi and at least 5 inches wide.

Information for the announcement should be submitted using the Engagement Announcement form available at tdtnews.com or at the Temple Daily Telegram office, 10 South Third St., Temple, Texas 76501. Forms must be printed neatly or typewritten. They must be signed and have a telephone number where the person submitting the announcement may be reached during business hours.

The deadline for engagement announcements is 10 days prior to the Sunday of publication. Engagements should be announced at least one month before the ceremony.

Wedding Announcement information and guidelines

Wedding announcements will be printed in the Sunday edition immediately following the wedding if information is turned in to the Temple Daily Telegram’s Lifestyle Department no later than 10 days before the wedding. Wedding announcements will not be published if the information is received more than one month after the ceremony.

Wedding announcements are published at no charge if the bride or bridegroom or at least one set of parents or grandparents are residents or former residents of the newspaper’s circulation area (Bell, Milam, Lampasas, Coryell, Falls, and portions of Williamson or McLennan counties).

The photograph with the wedding announcement is of the bride only. Clear, in-focus black and white or color photos are acceptable. Polaroid, instant or soft focus prints cannot be used. Please send photos with a resolution of at least 200 dpi and at least 5 inches wide. Because of space limitations, full-length pictures will not be used.

Photos are saved for 30 days after publication. The Telegram will not accept responsibility for mailing photographs back. If you wish to have your picture returned, please pick it up at the Temple Daily Telegram within 30 days after publication. Although those handling the pictures make every effort to ensure photos are not damaged, the Telegram accepts no responsibility for damaged or misplaced photographs.

Anniversary Announcement information and guidelines

Anniversary announcements are published in the Sunday edition of the Temple Daily Telegram. The deadline is 10 days prior to publication. Anniversaries are published for five-year increments beginning with 50 years. The Telegram typically publishes anniversaries after the anniversary date. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

There is no limitation on when the photo of the couple was taken. Clear, in-focus black and white or color photos are acceptable. Polaroid, instant or soft focus prints cannot be used. Please send photos with a resolution of at least 200 dpi and at least 5 inches wide

Information for the announcement should be submitted using the Anniversary Announcement form available at tdtnews.com or at the Temple Daily Telegram office, 10 South Third St., Temple, Texas 76501. Forms must be printed neatly or typewritten. They must be signed and have a telephone number where the person submitting the announcement may be reached during business hours. The Telegram will publish the names of the children, and the number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. Exceptions will be made if grown grandchildren are hosting the celebration.

Birth Announcements

The Temple Daily Telegram publishes birth announcements in the Life section each Sunday. Only local births from Baylor Scott & White and Baylor Scott & White Childrens hospitals will be printed. Out-of-town births may be submitted to living@tdtnews.com if the parents or grandparents are from the Telegram’s readership area. The deadline for submitting birth announcement is 30 days after the birth.

Faith Page submissions

The Temple Daily Telegram wants articles about church activities and special events for its Saturday Faith pages. The deadline for submission is noon Monday.

The Community Fellowship section is reserved for special events and services. Stories should be kept between 25 and 50 words.

Food Page submissions

 If you know a cook who you think should be featured on a food page, please contact the Features department at 254-774-5229.

Club News submissions

Club news is due by noon Monday. Stories should be kept between 25 and 50 words.

Pictures submitted for club news should contain no more than five people with the people arranged in two rows. Any more than that and the faces won’t show up in the newspaper.

Health Page submissions

Health Page news is due by noon Thursday. Stories should be kept between 25 and 50 words.
