Fort Hood soldier found dead near BLORA

Spc. Alexander Michael Johnson, 21, was found deceased near the the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreational Area's paintball court.

KILLEEN -- Fort Hood officials say a soldier was found dead near Belton Lake on Tuesday.

According to a news release, Army officials say Spc. Alexander Michael Johnson, 21, was found deceased near the the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreational Area's paintball court.

The release did not say what time Johnson was found, nor did it label the soldier's cause of death.

Johnson, whose home of record is Mulberry, Florida, entered active-duty military service in July 2013 as an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter repairer, according to the release. Johnson was assigned to 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since March 2014, officials said.

Johnson’s awards and decorations include National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
