Wendy’s will soon open in Belton to serve their fresh-beef burgers.
The Belton City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a plat for the .862-acre site at the corner of Main Street/State Highway 317 and River Fair Boulevard. The lot is about 37,500 square feet, according to the city of Belton.
The restaurant — nearly complete — prompted the extension of an 8-inch water line to the northern property line to “allow for a future connection when the adjacent lot develops,” a city staff report said.
The restaurant’s owner is 916 Foods LLC and the plat applicant is Turley Associates Inc., the staff report said.
Wendy’s will be near the Grand Avenue Theater and other fast-food outlets such as Jack in the Box, Sonic and Church’s Chicken. The building is nearly complete but the interior work remains to be done.
There already is an existing sidewalk along Main Street so no additional sidewalk was needed, the city said.
The restaurant site’s plat was unanimously approved by the Belton Planning and Zoning Commission on Nov. 15.
Wendy’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner items.
The Belton location will be the sixth Wendy’s restaurant in Bell County.
There are two Wendy’s locations in Temple, at 12310 NW HK Dodgen Loop near north Interstate 35 and at 2602 S. 31st St. There are three Killeen restaurants: at 2008 E. Central Texas Expressway, 1201 S. Fort Hood St. and 3816 S. Clear Creek Road.
