A tow truck moves a tractor-trailer that jackknifed on northbound Interstate 35 in Belton Monday afternoon.

BELTON – A 18-wheeler that jackknifed on northbound Interstate 35 tied up traffic Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at about 1:25 p.m. Monday just north of Central Avenue in Belton.

Traffic was down to one lane as authorities work on removing the tractor-trailer from the highway.

Belton officers responded to the jackknifed 18-wheeler and there were no injuries, police spokeswoman Candice Griffin said.

 First responders were cleaning up an oil spill from the incident, she said.
