The Temple Police Department is investigating the death of a dog found hanging from a tree Saturday.

Officers were sent at about 9 a.m. to the 1900 block of South 33rd Street, where a German Shepherd was hanging from a tree, police spokesman Chris Christoff said.

The owner said he discovered the dog’s body when he returned to his property, Christoff said.

There are no suspects in the case, which is investigated as cruelty to non-livestock, the spokesman said.
